Network Maintenance at Peer1 Montreal

CLOSED March 6th 01h45 EST: We just received a call from Peer1 confirming the maintenance is now completed and our primary links are back to the production switch. There was no downtime detected by our internal and external monitoring tools during the whole maintenance. Thanks to Peer1’s excellent team for their support during this maintenance!

UPDATE March 6th 00h21 EST: We just received a call from Peer1 confirming our primary links were successfully moved to a temporary switch. As expected, we didn’t notice any downtime during this process. We will continue monitoring our network during the full maintenance window.

UPDATE March 6th 00h08 EST: The Peer1 maintenance window has started and our team is closely monitoring our network. We are going to publish an update if we hear back from Peer1 and right after receiving confirmation that the maintenance has been completed.

A network maintenance will occur tonight at our Peer1 Montreal facility between March 6th 00h01EST and 04h00 EST (Mar. 6, 05:01-09:00 GMT).

This maintenance is required to perform a code upgrade on Peer1’s virtual chassis segment, necessary to address several bugs encountered with the old code and enable new features that will be beneficial for their infrastructure in the future.

Peer1 estimates a 20minutes downtime during this process but Speedyrails links will be moved to a temporary switch and given our redundant setup we don’t expect a downtime longer than a few seconds tonight.

Rest assured we will be monitoring our links to make sure the maintenance is executed without affecting our service.

If you have any question do not hesitate to contact us.

Thanks,
The Speedyrails Team
